Junior Eco Staff June 14-June 18
Back by popular demand! Start your journey toward a better understanding of unusual animals and the eco systems they inhabit. As a Junior ECO staffer, work hand-in-hand with the ECO Station staff in the care and feeding of some of the exotic wildlife, from slithery snakes to cool cockroaches, and discover ways to help maintain their environment – and our own!
Jungle Scientist Gone Green June 21-June25
In collaboration with STAR’s Science program, the ECO Station offers plenty of messy, hands-on fun to go around as we explore some of the gross and goopy ways that real-life scientists make discoveries deep in the jungle. Find out all about the scientific method, learning the rigorous standards scientists must apply as we conduct oozing and outrageous experiments!
Team ECO Environmental Adventures June 28 – July2
It’s up to Team ECO to save the day and the planet! Discover the devastating effects of global warming and deforestation, along with the threats they pose to ourselves and our animal friends. This week will turn kids into environmentally conscious citizens of the world.
Totally H2O July 12-July16
Explore the aquatic life of oceans, rivers, marshes and more as you frolic with the fish, carouse with the coral and admire the amphibians that all call the STAR ECO Station home. Totally H2O is sure to make a splash!
Biomes of the World July 19-July 23
Take a tour through the biomes of the world: lush rainforests, bone-dry deserts, swampy wetlands and more. Explore the amazing variety of animals that inhabit these climates and investigate the ingenious ways they’ve adapted to their environment!
Winged Wonders July 26-July 30
Brilliant, beautiful, and boisterous! Take flight with all of the STAR ECO Station’s fine feathered friends as you find out how birds communicate, soar through the sky, and even possess the amazing ability to keep a rhythmic beat!
Reptiles Rock August 2-August 6
Revel in our reptile repertory: snakes, dragons, monitors, turtles and geckos are all in our cast of crawling characters. Search out scientific certainties about these slithery souls, and help us enrich the lives of our amazing reptilian rescues!
Best of ECO August 9-August 13
One day you could be exploring an aquatic wonderland, and the next day you might be getting down with our geckos or having a blast with our exotic birds. Experience everything ECO has to offer and spend loads of hands-on time with our animals. This week is for campers that love all we have to offer so much that they just can’t pick a favorite!
